Turn "boring" information into engaging & interesting content!
We will take an existing packaging design and redesign the back of pack together.
I chose to redesign a supermarket brand of popsicles; we will analyse and deconstruct the current design to see how we can optimise it and inject some of the product and brand personality.
What we’ll cover:
→ What back of pack is and why it’s important
→ Analyse & deconstruct a back of pack of popsicles packaging which we will redesign together in the class
→ Sketch our back of pack onto a notebook to strategically think where to place all elements before moving to any software
→ Set up our Illustrator file, looking into workspaces, layers, etc
Who is this class for?
This class is for designers at any level with an interest in packaging design, storytelling, branding and have a knack for details.
You will need a basic knowledge of Illustrator and Photoshop to complete the class's project.
Class project
Your assignment is to redesign or design from scratch a back of pack of your choice. You can either follow along and redesign your own version of the rocket lollies back of pack I will be teaching in this class or any other packaging design you think could have a better back of pack.
BONUS module!
As a bonus lesson we will create a mock-up the back of pack we’ve just designed/ redesigned in Photoshop to give it a realistic and professional look so you’ll be able to add it to your portfolio or share it on your channels!
